EASY HOMEMADE BREAD RECIPE

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water 110 degrees F/45 degrees C
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 5-6 cups flour - You can use all-purpose flour OR bread flour!

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the 1 TBSP of the sugar in warm water and then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
  2. Mix remaining sugar, salt and oil into the yeast. Mix in flour one cup at a time. Dough should be tacky and clean the sides of the bowl save for a small part at the bottom. Too much flour added in yields a dry loaf of bread, so if you're worried you added too much, add a bit more hot water, until you get the correct consistency.
  3. Knead dough for 7 minutes. Place in a well oiled bowl, and turn dough to coat. Cover with a damp cloth. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
  4. Punch dough down. Knead for 1 minute and divide in half. Shape into loaves and place into two greased 9x5 inch loaf pans. Allow to rise for 30 minutes, or until dough has risen 1 inch above pans.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30-40 minutes. Cool, brush with butter

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. + 1/8 tsp. dried oregano, divided
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 jar pizza sauce, divided
  • 1 tube (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 ounces thin-sliced pepperoni, about 1/3 cup
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbs. butter, melted
  • 2 Tbs. grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. In large non-stick skillet cook ground beef, 1/2 tsp. oregano, garlic powder and kosher salt until browned, stirring frequently. Drain any excess drippings.
  3. Cool slightly and stir in 1/3 cup pizza sauce.
  4. Unroll pizza dough on baking sheet with shallow sides.
  5. Spread 1/2 cup pizza sauce down center of dough. Top with sliced provolone, pepperoni, ground beef and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Cut dough in 1-inch intervals in towards filling, down along both sides of dough.
  7. Bring dough up and over filling.
  8. Brush dough with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and remaining 1/8 tsp. oregano.
  9. Bake 20-25 minutes or until dough is golden and baked through.
  10. Heat remaining pizza sauce and serve as a dipping sauce with the pizza bread.

  2. In one bowl combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In another bowl combine milk, eggs, mashed bananas, melted butter and vanilla.
  4. Add wet mixture into dry mixture and stir until just blended.

  • 1 round loaf of crusty bread ,about 1 lb. 4 ounces- 1 lb. 8 ounces
  • 1 cup + 2 Tbs. shredded mozzarella ,divided
  • 1/2 cup homemade pesto or store bought pesto
  • 1/4 cup sundried tomatoes packed in oil ,chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with a piece of foil large enough to wrap up and over bread.
  2. Using a serrated knife, cut into, but not completely through, bread in a crisscross grid pattern. Place bread on prepared baking sheet.
  3. In bowl combine 1 cup mozzarella, pesto and sundried tomatoes. Spoon mixture into the cut portions of the bread. Lift up sides of foil and cover bread.
  4. Bake 20 minutes. Carefully open top of foil. Sprinkle top of bread with remaining 2 Tbs. mozzarella. Bake, uncovered, additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

  • 1 can (10 ounces) Rotel diced tomatoes & green chilies

  • 1 loaf French bread , halved lengthwise, about 12-inches long
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese ,divided
Taco Lime Sour Cream:
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp. taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp. lime zest
Toppings:
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup chopped scallions
  • 2 Tbs. cilantro leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a 10-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and cook ground beef and 2 Tbs. taco seasoning until beef is browned, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes & chilies and tomato paste and simmer until beef is cooked through and mixture is thick and saucy, about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Hallow out bread halves and sprinkle with 1 cup shredded cheese.
  5. Arrange on baking sheet and bake until cheese is melted, 5 minutes.
  6. Remove bread from oven and fill with beef mixture. Sprinkle with remaining ½ cup shredded cheese.
  7. Return bread to oven and bake until heated through and cheese is melted, 5 minutes.
Taco Lime Sour Cream:

Combine sour cream, 1 tsp. taco seasoning and lime zest.

Toppings:

Slice taco bread into 4 pieces and top with Taco Lime Sour cream, tomatoes, scallions and cilantro leaves.

  • 4 cups flour

  • 1 cup raisins , dark and/or golden raisins

  • 1 Tbs. caraway seeds , optional
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 egg , lightly beaten
  • 2 Tbs. butter , melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F. Coat 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray.
  2. In large bowl combine flour, sugar, raisins, baking powder, caraway seeds, salt and baking soda.
  3. Stir in milk and egg until a dough forms.
  4. To prevent dough from sticking to your hands, either wet them with cold water or coat them with cooking spray, then shape dough into round loaf. Transfer to prepared pan. Bake 45 minutes.
  5. Using serrated knife, cut 1/2-inch deep “X” into top of bread. Brush with melted butter. Bake additional 30 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
  6. Cool on baking rack. Serve warm, at room temperature or toasted.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup sloppy mashed potatoes (on the runny side)
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1½ cups shredded provolone cheese, or about 16 slices, enough to cover dough
  • 6 ounce package pepperoni

Instructions

  1. In a kitchen aid or bosche stand mixer dissolve yeast in the warm water and sprinkle 1 Tablespoon of sugar over the top.
  2. Add oil, sugar, salt, egg and mix well.
  3. Add potatoes and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour.
  5. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
  6. Beat dough dough down and dump onto a lightly floured surface.
  7. Roll dough into a ½ inch thick rectangle.
  8. Sprinkle cheese over the top and then cover with pepperonis.
  9. Roll dough the long way and pinch sides closed so the insides stay inside.
  10. Place on a greased cookie sheet and let rise again.
  11. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  12. When done, remove from oven and brush top with butter and let rest for 10 minutes before cutting.

No-Knead Jalapeno Cheddar Artisan Bread Recipe

No-Knead Jalapeno Cheddar Artisan Bread Recipe

This bread is fool proof delicious! It has a crunchy crisp crust with a soft center and has a delicious kick to it!


Ingredients

  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. yeast
  • 1½ cups luke-warm water
  • ¼ cup diced jalapeños, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Topping

  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 5-8 THIN slices jalapenos

Instructions

  1. Combine the three dry ingredients in a large bowl then pour in the luke-warm water. Stir until completely combined. Stir in jalapenos and cheese. Dough will look messy and not smooth and that is completely okay.
  2. Once combined, cover tightly with plastic wrap and let sit on the counter overnight. I let mine sit for about 15 hours. Let it rise anywhere from 12-18 hours. Dough will be puffed up appear bubbly and be sticky. It won't be in a ball shape and that is normal.
  3. When dough is done rising and ready to bake, preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  4. Heavily flour clean counter top or surface. Turn dough onto floured surface and shape into a round ball. Cover lightly with plastic wrap (you can just lay the plastic wrap that you used to cover your large bowl over the top) and let dough rest.
  5. While the dough is resting, place your dutch oven into the oven for 30 minutes to pre-heat.
  6. Note that once heated, the handles will be extremely HOT! Remember to use hot pads :)
  7. After dutch oven has preheated, place ball of dough in the cents of the dutch oven and cover with lid. You can put a piece of parchment under it if your dutch oven doesn't have an enamel coating.
  8. Bake at 450 degrees F for 30 minutes.
  9. After 30 minutes, remove lid, sprinkle cheese over the top of loaf and evenly distribute the thing slices of jalapeño of the top.
  10. Return uncovered to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes until done. Bread will be golden in color.
  11. Enjoy!

  • 2½ cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1⅛ cups oil
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

  • 3 Tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder

Glaze

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon lemon zext
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Whisk sugar and eggs together in a large bowl.
  3. Add oil and milk and whisk until well blended.
  4. Add lemon juice, vanilla, lemon zest and poppy seeds and whisk until well incorporated.
  5. Add flour, salt and baking powder and whisk until well incorporated.
  6. Pour into 2 greased (9x5 inch) bread pans or 5 greased mini bread pans.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40-50 minutes or until done. Test with toothpick in center for doneness.

Instruction for glaze


Combine sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla into a medium sauce pan. Stir to combine. Bring mixture to a boil. Once a boil has been reached, poke holes in the top of bread loaves with a fork and drizzle and evenly distribute glaze over the tops.
