Honey Oat Bread Recipe

Soft & Sweet Honey Oat Bread. Honey Oat Bread is one of my favorite bread recipes! The oats give it a great texture and the honey the best flavor! As always the best part is the aroma of freshly baked bread all throughout the house!

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour I used half whole wheat flour
3/4 cups oats either instant or old fashioned
1 TBSP instant yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup milk
1/4 cup lukewarm water
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup honey
1-2 TBSP dough enhancers if desired

Toppings

1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons honey warmed
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons oats

Instructions

In a large bowl, or the bowl of a standing mixer, combine the flour, oats, yeast, and salt.
In a small bowl, or a two cup measuring cup, warm the milk so that it’s hot enough to melt the butter, but not boiling. Add the butter, stirring until melted, then stir in the water and honey.
Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture, mixing with a dough hook until it just comes together to form a dough. Knead in the mixer, with the dough hook attachment, for 7-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic (if you’re making this recipe by hand, the dough will be very sticky at first; flour your hands and work surface generously and be patient). If the dough is still very wet and sticky after 5 minutes of kneading, add more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough is barely tacky. If the dough is too dry, add water, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) at a time, to soften it up.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and allow to rise until doubled, about 1/2 to 1 hour.
Once doubled, place the dough on a clean, dry work surface. If the dough is too sticky, lightly flour the surface before continuing. With your fingers, flatten the dough into a 9 by 12-inch rectangle. Tightly roll the dough, tucking the ends as needed, into a loaf. Place the shaped dough into a 9×5-inch loaf pan and brush the top with the warmed honey and sprinkle with the oats. Allow loaf to rise in a slightly warm location until doubled, about 1/2 hour. (It's winter so I find my bread rises best in the oven- I turn the oven on 350 for a minute or two, then turn it off. Place loaf on the oven rack with the light on. You can see my set-up in the picture below.)
When dough has doubled, preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 C). (I just leave the dough in the oven while preheating.) Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the bread is deep golden brown and the internal temperature is about 190 degrees. Transfer to a wire cooling rack and allow to cool completely before serving.

Homemade Hawaiian Bread Recipe

Hawaiian Bread made fresh with butter, eggs, flour, pineapple juice, ginger and vanilla. Simple, flavorful Hawaiian Bread recipe you can enjoy at home!

Ingredients

6 cups flour + 1/2 cup flour
3 eggs
2 cups pineapple juice
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp vanilla
2 pkg. yeast 1 1/2 TBSP
1 stick butter 1/2 cup, melted

Instructions

Beat eggs, add pineapple juice, sugar, ginger, vanilla and melted butter. Stir until combined.
Place 3 cups of flour in stand mixer (I use a Bosch). Add the egg mixture and mix until well combined. Sprinkle in the yeast and mix well.
Add the other 3 cups of flour and mix on low speed for about 2-3 minutes. If the dough is still sticking to the sides of the mixer, add another 1/2 cup flour and continue to mix. If the dough is still sticky add another 1/2 cup. I've never had to use more than 7 cups of flour for this bread, but it definitely depends on altitude, etc. so if you have to add a little more, it'll be fine! The dough should still be sticky to the touch, but not sticking to the sides of the mixer.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with cloth in a warm place. Let rise for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into three equal parts, shape into balls, and then place in greased round cake pans. Cover with cloth and let the dough rise for about another hour.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. As with any bread, it tastes the best straight out of the oven with melted butter.

Easy Bread Recipe for a Bread Machine

Homemade Bread made easy with simple ingredients & detailed instructions with photos. Make our best homemade bread recipe in your bread machine and enjoy the great flavor & texture!

Ingredients

1 cup warm water 110 degrees F/45 degrees C
1/4 cup white sugar
2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
3/4 teaspoons salt
2 TBSP vegetable oil
3 cups flour all purpose OR bread flour!

Instructions

Add the ingredients to the bread pan of your machine in the following order: water, oil, flour, sugar and salt. Make a small well in the dry ingredients and add yeast.
Place bread pan in machine. Close lid and set bread machine to bake a loaf of basic white bread.
Let bread cool when bread machine has completed the full cycle. (Mine takes 3.5 hours.) Remove from machine & pan. Brush with butter and enjoy!
